Finally art you are aloud to touch! As a part of the interactive exposition of the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, artist Daan Roosegaarde made a landscape of lights called DUNE. DUNE is a landscape that interacts with human behaviour. This mix of nature and technology is composed of recycled synthetic material and LED-lights that brighten according to the sounds and motion of passing visitors. The landscape is a social design, it can be placed outside to give a save feeling to people who walks alone in the dark.

The interactive exposition in the Stedelijk, named Touch and Tweet, can be visit from 16th of May till the first of September. There is also an interactive project to see of the British artists Hellicar & Lewis. Their project named The Hello Cube, which reacts to Tweets! It is developed with children and gives everyone the chance to have an artistic experience made by own tweets.

Worth to experience!

Merci, the famous store in Paris, finally has an online store with worldwide shipping!!

Merci is a store in the heart of the historic district of Haut-Marais. The founders created a place that brings together the best of the world of fashion, of design, of household goods with delicious welcome bites to eat. It’s located in a majestic loft where you can browse from room to room like in a real house. The store has three cafés; The Used Book Café, The Cinema Café and The Merci Canteen, where you can eat lunch while you read a book, or watch a movie during a delicious cup of coffee.

Merci actually functions as a very stylish charity shop: all the proceeds of the shop are invested in educational projects in Madagascar. Since the end of 2012, more than 900 children have benefitted from the pleasure of enjoying a well-balanced daily meal. The goal is to integrate education into the micro-region of southwest Madagascar and to make the school a solid and stable institution.

The online-merci-store is open since yesterday. Happily we now all can shop at this amazing concept store!

That’s after a five-year delay and €375 million price tag. Never before has a national museum undergone such a complete transformation of both its building and the presentation of its collection.

The opening is extra special because it is one of the last official duties of the Dutch queen before she abdicates. Beatrix has a huge interest for art; therefor this is the perfect job for her to do.

The entire presentation of the Rijksmuseum’s world-famous collection is new, except for Rembrandt’s masterpiece The Night Watch, which has been returned to its original position. For the very first time, visitors will be taken on a chronological journey through the collection in 80 galleries, where 8,000 objects tell the story of 800 years of Dutch art and history.

There is made a documentary about the fascinating and complicated process of rebuilding Holland’s most famous museum. See here the preview.

Carine Roitfeld, the former editor of French Vogue, returned to the world of magazines in September 2012 when she released CR Fashion Book – a highly artistic glossy. “It’s a bridge between legends and newborn talent”. Roitfeld’s obsessive tendencies provide the framework for her magazine.

The first edition was themed around “rebirth”. The theme was inspired by the birth of Roitfeld’s first grandchild during the production process of the magazine. It even included a picture of Kate Upton holding chicks on the cover.“When I started to work on this issue … I was obsessed with pregnancy, with babies, with new life coming. It’s become an obsession,” she said.

Now, she’s back with her second issue, which is inspired by ballet. For the past year Roitifeld has been taken private dance lessons. These lessons changed her body and mind and served as the inspiration for the issue. “I’m obsessed with the body of the ballet dancer, obsessed with the music and obsessed with the Russian tradition in ballet,” she said in an interview. The new issue contains an interview with dancer Kiara Kabukuru authored by Gisele Bundchen, the first editorial shoot of Rick Owens and a Scotland shoot by Karl Lagerfeld. In short, a lot of great fashion shoots and stories!

A food store that sells ready-to-go dinners, healthy products, fresh baked pies and more delicious edible stuff. The products are affordable and surrounded by a trendy environment.

Monday after a long and inspiring meeting we went out to the new Stach for some fresh air and a nice lunch. We fell in love and agreed they have the best alternatives for a home cooked meal!

Stach opened its first store in the Van Woustraat in 2011. Now the second Stach is opened in the Nieuwe Spiegelstraat in Amsterdam. Check it out: Stach, Nieuwe Spiegelstraat 52.
